I’m super excited to finally be sharing about the bathroom renovation we did shortly after moving into our house. Our house was built in the 50s but everything inside was updated when we bought it…except this bathroom. You can see from the teal and black tile that it was untouched. It is the hall bathroom, which is the one that any guests in our home would use while there, so we knew when we bought it that we would be updating it and planned that into our budget.
I knew I wanted a neutral color palette of white and wood with copper accents. I had a specific aesthetic in mind for the vanity and I just couldn’t find what I was looking for. So I ended up purchasing a dresser from a local furniture store (Nadeau – now with lots of locations around the country!) and then purchasing a scrap piece of marble and having it made into a vanity. I love how it turned out!
I also knew I wanted a copper vessel sink and copper faucet so did my research the find the look I wanted for less. Amazon to the rescue, per usual!

The other big must have for me was an awesome soaking tub. This is the only bathroom in the house that has a tub, and I love a good bath! The tricky part is this bathroom is pretty small, and the space for the tub was very limiting. So I needed an amazing soaking tub that was under 5 feet long. This one took quite a bit of research, but I found an awesome website that has soooo many options of all different styles and sizes – and the pricing was amazing! It made me a little nervous to order a tub online, but it arrived in 2 days (with free shipping) and was wonderful quality! All of that for $1000 for a very high end look and feel – jackpot! This is the tub I went with.
I love the simple look of the tub with just the subway tile without a curtain covering it up, so although we chose to install a shower head to keep the options open in the future, I chose not to do a curtain for now. At this point, we don’t use this for a shower, so it’s fine. If we need to have it be functional as a shower in the future we could do one of the older style oval curtain rods.
I kept the walls and flooring simple and neutral with subway tile and large marble floor tiles. And we called it a day!
It’s crazy to say, but this small hallway bathroom just might be my favorite rooms in the house now because I got to pretty much start with a blank slate and do it exactly like I wanted (which isn’t the case for any other room at this point).
Xo,
Shannon
