It’s always bothered me that I felt like I needed to have multiple completely different wardrobes (meaning spending a lot more money). So over time I’ve learned to try more and more to invest in pieces that can transition easily from workwear to casual. So I tend to look for tops that go well with work pants or tucked into a high waisted skirt or under a blazer or cardigan, and also look great with jeans or shorts outside of work. Items that give you somewhat of a blank slate that you can either dress up or down with different jewelry or shoes to change the look of are ideal.
I recently came across a top that fits the bill perfectly (and also transitions really easily across seasons!), thanks to Mallory at Style Your Senses. It’s currently on sale, and I think is such a steal given how versatile it is! So here it is styled 4 different ways:
Business Casual
Top
Pants
Pumps
Necklace
This has very quickly become one of my favorite work outfits. I feel great in it – very put together and stylish, but professional, and it’s super comfortable.

Throwing on some distressed jeans and OTK boots instantly give this top a little more of a trendy edge and make it perfect for almost any evening activity.

Flats – use code SHOPTOIT to make them under $30 and definitely size up!
Necklace
Once you take off the sweater, this is the sleeveless flowy peplum top underneath, which can be worn on its own as the weather warms up. This would actually be adorable with white jeans too, but mine are unfortunately still in the category of “things I don’t fit into yet” in my closet, so distressed jeans will have to do! I’ve paired it with my other favorite purchase of late – these adorable frayed bow flats! I definitely tend to be more of a heels girl, but I am seriously excited about these flats! Especially at under $30!!! I was surprised that they really were fairly comfortable (I just never expect that with this type of shoe), but I did size up and I think that is a big part of why. These flats are another great item that I can wear at work (especially on those days when I’ll be on my feet a lot at the hospital, and therefore want to avoid heels), and also look so cute with jeans. So I know I’ll be reaching for them frequently!
Summer
*Please disregard pasty white legs…showing a shorts option when there is literally snow on the ground outside was maybe not the brightest idea…

I wasn’t originally planning to go super summer in the middle of winter with a shorts option, but it really just shows you how versatile this top is! You can take it ultra casual by pairing it with shorts and sandals for those extra hot summer days when you still want to look put together.
I hope you have a great weekend!

Shannon
